Our latest Distinguished Writer was Peter Brown in 2025! Creator of the “Wild Robot” series (now a movie), Peter is the author/illustrator of numerous children’s books:
Though Peter is now our sixth Distinguished Writer, we’ve never had a program relevant for young children. Having so many kids excited made this one extra special. Also unique was hosting a writer who is an illustrator!
For his Creatives’ Talk, Peter discussed what drew him to art and showed some of his early work. At his Keynote, Peter did a drawing demonstration. He talked about using simple shapes to create the robot Roz and her world. The audience was riveted!
