At long last we are pleased to announce our beautiful Butterfly sculpture by Bernard “Blackie” Langlais has been hung in the Library! And perhaps this timing was unintentionally fitting, since yesterday would have been the artist’s birthday. We hope to install our second sculpture, a barnyard scene, before the end of the summer. We received these sculptures last fall thanks to the efforts of the Kohler Foundation. Thanks to the Colby Art Museum we are now part of an art trail throughout Maine in celebration of the legacy of this unique and magical artist.
